Fortnite is introducing a new Uncommon trap for players to set against the unsuspecting opponents, by firing projectiles either three horizontal grid cells or four vertical grid cells, depending on its placement. Like its predecessor, it can be placed on floors, walls and ceilings and is discoverable among Floor Loot.
However, unlike regular traps, its effects slowly tally up over time with a 10 health it per tick, with a new tick every 7 seconds for a total of 8 ticks. This damage is inflicted regardless of shields, with ticks being reset if the player accidentally stumbles into a new trap before the previous trap’s effect has worn off.
New Consumables
Fortnite is bringing players a new way to replenish health with new consumables that can be foraged through harvesting plants in different biomes. These include:
- Bananas that provide an immediate +5 health boost in tropical biomes.
- Coconuts that grant a +5-effect health boost that can also replenish shields, if the player’s health this already full in both tropical and desert biomes.
- Peppers offer an instant +5 health boost, as well as increasing the player’s movements by 20% for 10 seconds in desert biomes.
