Fortnite Season X launched on August 1, 2019 with Patch 10.0. This time, the Fortnite team decided to go with an ‘Out of Time’ theme in order to rework old skins and locations – but don’t worry, they have also brought some new and exciting elements to the game.
Fortnite Season X’s Battle Pass Rewards
Fortnite Season X’s Battle Bass rewards have refreshed for another 100+ unlockable rewards, with the two main skins being Yond3r and Catalyst and Ultima Knight as the Tier 100 skin. Of course, there are also some free missions and unlockable prizes for non-battle pass holders as well, with Limited Time Missions replacing Daily Challenges with a new aspect of the mission unlocking as the week progresses regardless of whether you log in or not. This should make players feel less pressurized to play daily. However, each Limited Time Mission will expire at the end of each week, so players can’t be too lax.
Fortnite Season X’s Map Changes
Temporal oddities are the theme this season, with the first major thematic map change being that the meteor that turned Dusty Depot into Dusty Divot has been reversed and suspended in midair, thereby bringing back Dusty Depot, as well as its factories and containers to the map. The other slightly noticeable aerial change is that the area around the impaled skeletal remains of Season 9’s big boss has started to blossom. No doubt there are other minor changes on the map, and we can expect more surprises as the season progresses.
Fortnite Season X’s New B.R.U.T.E. Mech
B.R.U.T.E. mech suits offer a new way for duo squads to decimate their opponents. Two B.R.U.T.E.’s spawn randomly per game and start out with 1,000 life, making it pretty difficult to destroy, even if it is being piloted by a solo player. The good news, though is that there is that the pilot’s head is always visible, making it the best target for a joint attack – provided that its shield hasn’t been activated for 200 materials.
This vehicle comes with two weapons; a shotgun with a 10-bullet clip size that damages for 50 per shot, as well as a missile launcher that can fire up to ten missiles simultaneously for an instant kill with a direct hit.
Even without these weapons, the B.R.U.T.E. is pretty OP, as even though movement and shooting are two separate actions that a solo player would have to switch between seats, solo players can still stomp, dash and super jump, which not only help with farming and mobility, but can also do a decent amount of damage to opponents. Fortunately, the B.R.U.T.E.s always appear on the map, even when they are mobile, so you can at least have a heads up on where they are and where they’re headed in order to give you some time to stock up and prepare ahead of direct confrontation.
